KNR Tax & Business Services

CLIENT POLICIES

Clear Expectations. Better Service

At KNR Tax & Business Services, Inc., clear expectations help us provide timely, accurate, and professional service. Our Client Policies explain the requirements for engaging our firm, providing information, scheduling work, making payments, and receiving completed work.

Specific services may have additional or different requirements. The terms of your signed engagement letter govern your individual engagement.

ENGAGEMENT REQUIREMENT

A signed engagement letter is required before substantive work begins. Providing documents, granting access to financial records, scheduling a consultation, or communicating with KNR Tax does not by itself establish an active engagement.

Your engagement letter defines the services KNR Tax has agreed to perform, the responsibilities of both parties, applicable fees, and other terms specific to your engagement.

PAYMENT REQUIREMENTS

When the scope of work and engagement fee can be determined at the outset, 50% of the engagement fee is due before work begins, unless different payment terms are stated in your engagement letter.

The remaining balance is due when KNR Tax completes the agreed scope of work.

SCOPE ASSESSMENT FEE

Some accounting cleanup, reconstruction, tax, advisory, or other complex engagements require a preliminary review before KNR Tax can determine the full scope of work and final pricing.

For these matters, a $500 Scope Assessment Fee is required before the assessment begins. The fee covers the professional review necessary to evaluate the records, identify the work required, and develop a proposed scope of services and pricing.

The Scope Assessment Fee is nonrefundable once the assessment has begun.

If you accept the proposed engagement, the full $500 will be credited toward your total engagement fee. You will then sign the applicable engagement letter and pay any additional amount necessary to satisfy the initial payment requirement before substantive work begins.

TAX PREPARATION & BANK PRODUCTS

Tax preparation clients who elect an approved bank product that provides for preparation fees to be deducted from an anticipated tax refund are not required to make the standard advance payment for tax preparation fees covered by the bank product.

You remain responsible for all agreed fees regardless of the amount or availability of your anticipated refund.

If your refund is reduced, offset, intercepted, delayed, denied, or otherwise insufficient to satisfy the fees, any unpaid balance remains your responsibility and becomes due in accordance with the terms of your engagement.

FINAL PAYMENT & DELIVERY OF WORK PRODUCT

When KNR Tax completes the agreed scope of work, the final invoice will be issued and any remaining balance becomes due.

Completed work product will be released or made available after the engagement balance has been paid in full.

Depending on your engagement, completed work product may include tax returns, accounting files, reconciliations, reports, financial analyses, schedules, workbooks, or other deliverables included within the agreed scope.

Client review or approval does not postpone the payment obligation after KNR Tax has completed the agreed scope of work.

Requests for additional services or work outside the original scope may require a revised or separate engagement and additional fees.

EXPEDITED SERVICE

Requests for completion sooner than KNR Tax’s typical production time are considered expedited service.

When accepted, expedited service is subject to an additional fee equal to 25% of the applicable service fee, with a minimum expedited fee of $250.

Expedited service is subject to KNR Tax’s availability and existing production capacity and must be accepted by KNR Tax in advance.

Payment of an expedited fee does not guarantee a requested completion date unless KNR Tax has expressly agreed to that deadline.

Expedited service does not waive engagement, documentation, signature, information, or payment requirements.

A client-created delay or urgent deadline does not create an obligation for KNR Tax to provide expedited service.

CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES

Clients are responsible for providing complete, accurate, and timely information and documentation necessary for KNR Tax to perform the agreed services.

This includes providing requested records and responding promptly to requests for additional information, clarification, decisions, approvals, and signatures.

Clients are responsible for reviewing the information and documents they provide for accuracy and notifying KNR Tax promptly of information that is missing, incorrect, or has changed.

Typical production time begins once the engagement has been accepted, calendared, and the file is complete.

A file is considered complete when KNR Tax has received the information, documentation, system access, signatures, and other items reasonably necessary to perform the scheduled work.

If required information is missing when work is scheduled to begin, the engagement may be removed from its scheduled production slot and rescheduled based on current availability.

Missing records, incomplete information, unanswered questions, unsigned documents, or other client delays may extend the anticipated completion date.

KNR Tax may rely upon information and representations provided by the client and is not engaged to independently audit or verify that information unless such verification is specifically included within the agreed scope of services.

KNR TAX RESPONSIBILITIES

KNR Tax will perform the services described in the signed engagement letter with professional care and in accordance with the agreed scope of work.

KNR Tax will communicate when additional information, documentation, clarification, signatures, approvals, or decisions are reasonably necessary to continue the engagement.

When reasonably possible, KNR Tax will communicate anticipated production timelines and notify clients of circumstances known to us that are expected to materially affect completion.

KNR Tax will safeguard client information in accordance with applicable professional requirements and use appropriate methods for transmitting sensitive information.

Upon completion of the agreed scope, KNR Tax will notify the client, issue any remaining invoice, and make the completed work product available after the engagement balance has been paid in full.

DEADLINES & CLIENT-CREATED URGENCY

KNR Tax cannot guarantee completion by a filing, reporting, financing, compliance, or other deadline when the client has not provided complete information and required documentation within the timeframe requested.

A client’s delay in providing information does not create an obligation for KNR Tax to provide expedited service.

If a client delay results in a request for priority or expedited scheduling, expedited service is subject to KNR Tax’s availability, production capacity, and the applicable expedited-service fee.

Filing deadlines, tax notices, financing deadlines, prior delays, emergencies, or other time-sensitive circumstances do not automatically waive KNR Tax’s engagement, documentation, signature, information, or payment requirements.

KNR Tax must expressly accept any expedited or priority scheduling request before an accelerated timeline applies.

SERVICE TIMELINES & WHAT TO EXPECT

Typical production time begins once your engagement is accepted, calendared, and your file is complete.

INDIVIDUAL TAX RETURNS

Typical Production Time: 24–72 Hours

Most individual tax returns are completed within 24–72 hours once the return has been accepted and scheduled and all required tax documents and information have been received.

Additional time may be necessary for complex returns, missing information, additional research, multiple-state filings, or issues identified during preparation.

BUSINESS TAX RETURNS

Typical Production Time: 3–5 Business Days

Business tax returns are generally completed within 3–5 business days once the engagement has been accepted and scheduled, all required documentation has been received, and the accounting records are complete and ready for tax preparation.

If bookkeeping, reconciliation, correction, cleanup, or reconstruction is required before the return can be prepared, the tax-preparation timeline does not begin until the accounting work is complete.

ACCOUNTING CLEANUP

Typical Production Time: 1–2 Weeks

Accounting cleanup engagements are generally completed within 1–2 weeks once the engagement has been accepted and scheduled and KNR Tax has received all required records, accounting-system access, bank and credit card statements, supporting documentation, and requested information.

Actual production time may vary based on transaction volume, number of accounts, periods involved, condition of the records, and issues identified during the engagement.

ACCOUNTING RECONSTRUCTION

Typical Production Time: 1–2 Weeks

Accounting reconstruction is generally completed within 1–2 weeks once the scope has been determined, the engagement has been accepted and scheduled, and all available records, required access, and requested information have been provided.

Because reconstruction involves rebuilding financial records from available source documentation, additional time may be necessary when records are missing, conflicting, incomplete, or require client clarification.

WHAT HAPPENS IF SOMETHING IS MISSING?

Suppose your accounting project is scheduled to begin on Monday. KNR Tax has requested a final bank statement and two additional documents, but those items have not been received by the scheduled start date.

Your production timeline does not begin Monday.

The project may be removed from its scheduled production slot so KNR Tax can continue serving clients whose files are complete and ready for scheduled work.

If the remaining information is provided Thursday, KNR Tax will determine when the project can be returned to the production calendar based on current availability.

Your applicable production timeline begins from the newly scheduled start date—not the original incomplete-file date.

EXPEDITED SERVICE

Need your work completed sooner than the typical production time?

Expedited service may be available depending on KNR Tax’s existing production calendar and capacity.

When accepted, expedited service is subject to an additional fee of 25% of the applicable service fee, with a $250 minimum.

Expedited service must be approved by KNR Tax in advance. Requesting or offering to pay an expedited fee does not guarantee that an accelerated timeline is available.

All required information, documentation, signatures, and payments must still be received before expedited production can begin.

HELP US KEEP YOUR WORK ON SCHEDULE

The best way to protect your scheduled production time is simple: provide complete information by the requested deadline and respond promptly when KNR Tax requests clarification or additional documentation.

When your file is complete and ready when scheduled, we can do what we do best—get the work completed efficiently.
